Student Connection
|
Student volunteers and organizational support from Loma Linda University (LLU) are key to the impact of the Foundation’s outreach programs. There is always a core group of students who form the nucleus of the student providers-in-training who participate in the Foundation’s projects in the United States and Nicaragua. These students, mostly comprised of LLU’s dental, dental hygiene and the international dentist program students, often volunteer on a weekly-basis.
All procedures provided by them, including screenings, radiographs, restorations, extractions, dentures, medical screenings and oral health and hygiene instructions, are carefully supervised by the Foundation’s licensed, professional dental and medical staff, many of whom are attending faculty at Loma Linda University. All healthcare services provided by the Foundation and these professional healthcare students are on a “no-fee basis.” You can find more information and photos about these students and their organization, the Foundation for Worldwide Health Students (FWWHS) at: https://www.facebook.com/fwwhstudents/ |
